Faced with a divorce and the prospect of obtaining her first job outside the home, she decided to do something she already knew she loved ... singing

So A to Z Productions became both her hobby and her profession. She thinks a great Karaoke host creates a personable, supportive atmosphere for their singers. In her own case, she even has nicknames for her favorites (ask her yourself about the Twin Towers), to keep everyone on a first-name basis.

Laura doesn’t call herself a “professional singer” but says she enjoys singing in church and for friends at weddings and other special occasions. We had a great time at Mugs listening to her rendition of Evanescence’s Bring Me To Life along with co-star / business partner Mike Harrison. As far as improvements to her already-popular performances, she says she’d like to see more interactive activities for her guests; such as incorporating an American Bandstand style line dance, a limbo or even the occasional chicken dance into her performances. She also loves to do Contests to help promotions.

Singer, KJ, Promoter and Interactive Activity Specialist ... what’s next for Laura and A to Z? She says she sees the industry’s popularity growing and its future becoming more like American Idol. Her aspirations are to go digital, eliminating the need to haul around caseloads of heavy, expensive discs that run a constant risk of being damaged in transit.
